There is business to be done in Ireland, despite the recession, but suppliers have to try much harder to seek it out, according to one exhibitor at this week's AmEx in Dublin, Ireland.

“Irish operators have been hit hard by the economic situation and many are struggling,” said Steve Bryant of AMG Leisure. “There has been an increase in the sales of second-hand machines as a result.

“It is also a fact that the Irish industry is propped up by gaming, making amusements a more difficult proposition. Having said that, sales of cranes and pushers have been good in the country in recent years.”

AMG is a relatively new name in the Irish market, but Bryant himself has been involved in sales there in his previous roles with Deith and Brent. “I have been covering this area for many years now and have good relationships with the Irish operators,” he told InterGame.

In general, things are going well for AMG. “We are working hard and seeing some positives as a result of that. Our product line has been built up well over the past few years.”
