Brunei has implemented a ban on crane games in the country.

Minister of home affairs Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman explained that the games had been classified as haram as it has “gambling elements.”
The news was first reported in the Borneo Bulletin, which said that companies running businesses with crane games have been told to cease operations immediately.
The ruling comes after a fatwa was issued by the country’s Mufti Office, which provides religious direction, associating the games with gambling practices.
