Popular arcade game Big Buck Hunter Pro, from Raw Thrills, is to be made into a game for mobile phone handsets through Hands-On Mobile.
The mobile version employs EyeMobile Engine technology, which allows players to aim guns by physically moving the phone to the left and right.
The player’s in-game movements are detected through the phone’s camera eye. With slight hand movements players are able to position their gun on screen and take down moving targets. The game is currently available on Verizon and is due to be released to US cellular and alltel customers.
Like the coin-op version, the game allows players to assume the role of a professional hunter with the goal of shooting bucks and forest critters to earn big scores and bonus points. It features exciting fast-paced motion-based gameplay, 28 unique levels for both amateur and pro players, bonus games and online leader boards. Players are also able to display scores via the CoinUp system from networked arcade game leaderboards and gain access to the Big Buck Hunter Pro arcade player website.
Michael Temkin of Hands-On Mobile said: "We are excited to integrate groundbreaking technology like the EyeMobile Engine into a fully immersive game like Big Buck Hunter Pro. By providing gamers with a unique, interactive experience, we further solidify our commitment to innovation in mobile gaming.
"The connectivity between the mobile game and the arcade game will bring the social aspect of Big Buck Hunter Pro to an unprecedented level," added George Petro, president of Play Mechanix.
