Two years after leaving Empire Games, Craig Beer has teamed up with Mohammed Zahed, the former head of gaming for Mecca Bingo, to set up a new venture, iPlay.

The new company will provide third party digital content for Category C machines in the UK.
The analogue machine market, still healthy in the UK, was the initial target for the new company, said Beer, especially with the continued expansion of the groups now controlled by Austrian and German investors. “We were contacted by Gala Bingo to produce new analogue machines to replaced proven but ageing titles that they were struggling to keep functioning. So we produced a game named Happy Go Lucky expressly for that sector and immediately we have been called upon to produce 50 of them.”
Beer said that updating analogue machines was not the only sector that the company seeks to venture into. “We have introduced the same title to hand-held tablets and they have gone into both Gala and Mecca bingo locations. We are poised to see the same games going into other bingo operations.”
The new company has a string of other titles now undergoing test, including Wildfire, Utter Madness and Happy Times.
