The latest on the possibility of a Universal Studios theme park being built in the UK is that the apparently chosen location, just south of Bedford, is getting the thumbs up from the locals.

The park operator has surveyed 6,000 locals over its proposals and 92 per cent have responded positively. The revelation that the park was a possibility arose after the parenty company bought as 476-acre piece of land just outside the city.

In the past month Universal has held a series of face-to-face presentations with locals and has contacted ovcer 100 local organisations to seek opiinion.

No firm decision has been taken, but due diligence continues on the project.
