One of Tokyo’s best-known arcades, the one-time Sega Akihabara Arcade Building 4, has been bought and will reopen in March as Namco Akihabara.

Akihabara

Akihabara is the amusement arcade part of the Japanese capital with dozens of locations, but the Sega Akihabara was the most famous.

It was rebranded by Genda GiGO Entertainment when they bought out the operation and named the venue GiGO Akihabara Arcade.

Bandai Namco is now taking over the vacant building and will use it for an arcade and is currently advertising for staff.

Akihabara has grown as the centre for games rooms because it is adjacent to the very busy Akihabara railway station.
