A bad press is nothing new to the UK amusement and gaming industry, but the past few days have seen a spate of negative comment and reports in major newspapers.

The Observer and the Daily Mail over the weekend hit out at the AGC sector and then on Monday The Guardian came out with a piece about the planned statutory levy.
A riposte was not slow in coming. Bacta president John Bollom said on Monday: “The accusations in these articles are without foundation and many of the facts stated are plain wrong.”
Bollom said that the association was engaging with journalists to set the record straight and he had offered rebuttal quotes.
He has also written to the Gambling Commission asking it to correct those "wilfully misusing" commission statistics that he said would be released this week as part of the gambling survey.
