Victoria Square Mall, in the city of Regina, Saskatchewan, will soon see the opening of a new indoor playground and a large arcade, reports CTV News.

The 9,000sq.ft arcade will feature more than 140 machines as well as various prize games and food offerings.

The playground will have four levels of climbing, sliding, and a toddler zone.

Senior retail advisor Michael LeBlanc told CTV News that online shopping had risen since the pandemic and many shopping malls have moved to a more entertainment-based approach known as “shoppertainment.”

He said shoppertainment is more common in larger shopping centres but now smaller centres, like Victoria Square, are joining the trend.
