Apex Gaming unveiled its new Pinnacle SL slant top cabinet for the first time at ENADA Rome last week.

The cabinet has two 26ins widescreens and a state-of-the-art sound system. “It’s big and wide and stands out from other machines,” said Apex chief Johannes Weissengruber. “It is the next big step forward in slant tops. The Pinnacle upright has been a great success and we are expecting this to follow in its footsteps.”

Apex is doing well in Italy’s emerging VLT market. It has an agreement with Italian firm BPlus, which includes an initial contract for 1,000 machines. “The fact that we are finding success in the market is testament to how far we have come in the 10 years or so we have been going,” added Weissengruber.

“We went from being a small to a medium-sized company and we are now competing with the likes of IGT, Bally and Novomatic.”
