AMI Entertainment debuted its new jukebox NGX at the Amusement Expo last week, a simple cabinet design which has various 'skins' available to it, meaning it is truly customisable to the operator's requirements.

Not only are various skins available, the jukebox software actually knows when the skin has been changed and adapts the lighting to fit in with the new skin; for example if the skin has a green theme, the lighting will also change to green.

Speaking with InterGame at the show, AMI’s Mike Maas said: "The new jukebox features a clean and beautiful design and it is priced better as well. We’ve used the same touchscreen as the LX model and used Version 3 software having introduced it across the entire network of existing AMI jukeboxes 18 months ago, which saw a 10 per cent increase in revenue across the board."

One area where AMI continues to push forward is, with its Prize Farm game. Although it has response has been slower than the manufacturer would have liked, momentum is beginning to pick up, Maas told InterGame, and is now present in 16 states across the US.

Commenting on the show itself, Maas told InterGame: "We’ve seen lots of traffic and it has a similar feel to the show in London I attended earlier in the year. I can’t remember the last time we’ve had a show like this - it has been overwhelming. There is definitely enthusiasm in the market and you can see that from the attendance and operators’ attitudes. Earnings will take time to recover but from what I’m hearing operators are beginning to see signs of stability and improvement."
