AMG Leisure, LAI’s exclusive distributor in the UK, recently visited the manufacturer’s factory in Jakarta, Indonesia.

AMG and LAI

This was the first time AMG had visited the factory and the company was treated to a preview of the new games currently in development and scheduled to be introduced at IAAPA in November, as well as an exclusive look at the work that goes into game development and production.

“We’re really impressed by the scale and quality of LAI’s manufacturing facility. It is a huge operation, great care is taken at every step in the process and very interesting to see just how much work the factory does in-house,” said Mark Sowray, co-director of AMG.

“It was fascinating seeing the whole new game process through R&D, meeting the development team and being given a sneak-peak at the new games for IAAPA,” added Alex Auckland, also co-director of AMG.

The visit also allowed a first-hand look at its next shipment of Balloon Busters in production, the company’s current top-selling game in the UK.

The distributor also visited a local Timezone location to view one of the new prototype games on test. Timezone is a chain of over 200 family entertainment centres owned by the LAI Group, the parent company of LAI Games, and often serves as a testing ground for new LAI titles.

LAI’s international sales manager, Steve Bryant, said: “It was fantastic to have a distributor of AMG’s calibre take time to visit our factory. It adds value to our relationship when they can see how our games are produced and provides a great opportunity to get their invaluable feedback and ideas for improvements.”
