Kiddie rides have remained steadfast in a radically changing world. Ian Donegan investigates what their secret is.

CHILDREN nowadays have any number of electronic entertainment devices at their fingertips – we have all been amazed at one point or another to see a toddler completely intuitively navigating an iPad or pleading with their parents to get the use of their smartphone for 10 minutes while the adults talk about boring things.
But the classics are well worth remembering as well; it doesn’t seem to matter how advanced the technology in the wider world gets, kiddies will always be enamoured with the idea of riding a brightly coloured, swaying machine, ideally adorned with some beloved licence.
