Sound Leisure’s Alan Meats is retiring after a long career in the amusement industry.

Meats has spent the last 13 years with the company, running its export department. He joined the company from Hazel Grove, where he started out installing and repairing jukeboxes before opening a sales depot for the Cheshire-based company in Bristol.
“We were very lucky to have Alan come and join us when he left Hazel Grove,” said Sound Leisure managing director Chris Black. “I knew Alan from working alongside him at various European exhibitions and soon realised that he had the same work ethic as myself and that he loved the business that we all work in.
“Alan fitted in with the team at Sound Leisure perfectly from the minute he joined us and nothing was ever too much trouble. All of the team have really enjoyed working alongside him and we are all sad to see him go. However, everyone at Sound Leisure wishes Alan a very long and happy retirement. He definitely deserves a rest after the hours and amount of work he has put in over the years.”
Meats described the Sound Leisure team as “wonderful to work with” and thanked his customers for making his job so enjoyable.
“Now I am going to make up for all those trips away from my family by spending more time with my grandchildren - especially as we have a new grandchild due to arrive at any moment,” he said.
