The first Smurfs FEC in the Middle East is to be built by Saudi Arabian operator Al Hokair, as a result of a new partnership with IMPS.

During the recent Brand Licensing Europe trade show in London, a licence agreement was signed by Al Hokair general manager of entertainment Mohamed Attia (pictured) with the International Merchandising, Promotion and Services (IMPS).
The deal will see the first Smurfs FEC in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and more locations will follow across the MENA region.
Attia is pictured with IMPS head of marketing and communications Philippe Glorieux and the head of consumer products, Fabienne Gilles.
IMPS, together with LAFIG of Belgium, are the official licensors of the little blue characters and manage the rights to them and the other characters created by Pierre Culliford (aka Peyo).
Al Hokair now operate over 80 entertainment centres across the Middle East, plus 35 hotels, a chain of cinemas and restaurants in KSA.
