An empty shop in Blackpool, UK, will become an adult gaming centre (AGC) if planning permission is granted.

Red Dragon Amusements has lodged an application with Blackpool Council to convert the empty shop on the corner of Bank Hey Street and Church Street, close to the Central Promenade.

The Blackpool Gazette reported this week that the venue, if permission is granted, would be open only to the over 18s and its content would consist of mainly low-stake gaming machines and cranes.

The planning statement accompanying the application said that “AGCs are adult amusement centres which consist of gaming machines for the entertainment and leisure of customers.

"These establishments are common in town centres and high street locations and are considered to be functionally compatible in this location.”
