Out go payment apps and wallets and in comes QRPayNow.com, introduced at the Manchester ARE trade show by Derek Lynch of UK-based technology company Radical Shock.

“It is simple,” said Lynch - scan the QR code and use your phone to pay for the validation of amusement games. Other systems require much more expensive technology and a lot of messing about by the customer.

“It was originally developed for pool tables, but has now been extended to cover all types of amusement machines.

"The player just scans the code - it is simple and it is quick for players and tests show that it can increase the income of a machine by anything up to 20 per cent compared with app/wallet systems; it is twice as fast.”

The picture shows Lynch demonstrating the system to Joe and Chris Manion of local company Manco Automatics.
