The move is intended to accelerate Adrenaline’s push into the mobile gaming market. While both companies will continue to focus on their core businesses, the two will work together to offer clients a combination of mobile and arcade games to further reinforce their brands in their respective markets.

“The mobile gaming market represents a significant opportunity for Adrenaline,” said CEO Francois Lachance. “The acquisitions fits with our vision to offer world-class original IP and custom-brand games for both arcades and mobile users. Sabarkan’s creative prowess is second to none and we are thrilled to be working with such innovative minds.”

Guy Boucher, studio general manager of Quebec City-based Sarbakan, said that Adrenaline “harnesses a distinct opportunity in the marketplace” that will generate breakthroughs in gameplay experiences.

“The concept of merging mobile and arcade games is unique and – until now – only offered by one of two major industry players,” he said. “We are looking forward to building exciting new games with fascinating twists. We are confident that Sarbakan will continue to flourish as a best-in-class game studio for years to come.”

The two companies are planning to launch new arcade and mobile projects next month.
