The refurbishment of Birnbeck Pier at Weston-super-Mare is being held up by a series of administrative adjustments.

A council meeting was due to be held last night to deal with a change in the relationship between North Somerset Council and the RNLI.
Originally the plan was for a joint approach to the work, but now the RNLI has asked to be disengaged from the repair programme.
The organisation will still be involved in its own organisation on the island and the funding remains in place.
The council will now become the sole employer for the regeneration project and now has to arrange the contracts for the restoration work.
