An Italian esports company, Team Qlash, hosted this year's Italian Pinball Championship, at its headquarters in Villorba, Treviso, during the weekend of June 23-24.

Acciari wins Italy’s new pinball tournament

The event was organised by the Italian arm of the International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA Italia) with the support of pinball manufacturers Stern Pinball, Tecnoplay and Double Pinball.

Daniele Acciari, who played on Stern Pinball’s new Iron Maiden machine, won the tournament. Second place went to the Venetian player, Daniele Baldan. The former Italian pinball champion, Roberto Pedroni, had to settle for third place, while fourth was taken by the Swiss player, Levente Tregova.

As well as the main event, there was a side tournament played only on classic machines. In this, Pablo Iacoponi from Pisa won. Gabriele Tedeschi from Rome took second place and Britain’s number one ranking player, Rick Mallett, came in third.

The event also celebrated the burgeoning game of virtual pinball. This too had a tournament that saw Davide Della Ianna from Lombardia take first place with second and third taken by Mirko Plumari and Ales Rebec respectively.

In the women’s tournament, Antonella Iannotta prevailed over the other participants.

Winners were awarded a series of trophies and gadgets donated by Stern Pinball.
