IT is 30 years since the late Angel Lorenzo Regidor founded his company, Industrias Lorenzo. The Spanish gaming components supplier was launched on July 1, 1984, offering its expertise in manufacturing to the gaming industry for the first time. Today, it is widely relied upon for all manner of items, from illuminated push buttons to coin acceptors, joysticks to ticket dispensers, and its reach is now truly global.

“Our main product from the beginning was our push buttons for the gaming industry,” said sales director Enrique Jütten. “Our focus from the beginning was to give good support to our clients with high-quality products and a good price.” Crucially, he said, these were “made in Spain.”

Industrias Lorenzo’s success over the years has driven the expansion of its facilities in Sant Climent de Llobregat in Barcelona, Spain, which now span 10,000sq.m. In its native gaming and amusement market, the launch of its 40mm reels was a “milestone,” as was its SM Series of push buttons. These products helped lay the foundation for growth overseas, prompting contact with future international customers. “The quality of our products was the key for our success,” said Jütten.

This move into the overseas markets began only a year after the company was founded when it began to sell its products to North and South America. In 1990 it also began exporting components to Asia and Australia. Since then, said Jütten, the company has been working hard to increase its presence in these key territories.

“Today,” he said, “you have the advantage of all the big OEMs working globally and that the world is a little town.” Industrias Lorenzo is a familiar fixture at many of the world’s leading trade events and has firmly established itself as a key supplier to the international market over the past three decades.
