The European Commission has extended its initial review period to rule on Crane's planned acquisition of MEI Conlux.

Crane review extended Crane review extended

The review has been extended from July 5 to July 19, following proposals submitted by Crane to address antitrust concerns.

The company said the Commission is focused on two product lines in the European market and it is now engaged in discussions with the Commission regarding potential remedies. Crane said it remains hopeful that these issues will be "favourably resolved" in the initial review period.

The two companies announced in December that they had reached a deal, under which Crane would acquire MEI for £820m.
