Melia Hotels International and entertainment company Falcon's Beyond have announced the opening of the $350m Falcon's Resort development, located at the Bavaria Beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The resort is the first to open in the joint Falcon's Resort destinations venture by the two companies, with upcoming sites in Tenerife, Canary Islands; Playa Del Carmen, Mexico; and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico all planned to open in the next few years.
eHotelier reported that guests at the new Punta Cana hotel will be able to preview select attractions at the resort's on-site Katmandu Park from March 15 of this year. The park is significant as the Caribbean's "first theme park", offering four state-of-the-art attractions, immersive storytelling experiences, mini-golf, a ropes course and more.
Phase two of the resort's development, to be completed by late 2023, will include a "rebrand" of an existing boutique experience currently known as Garden Suites by Melia, along with its 190 rooms.
