Funding has been acquired for a £26m year-round surfing centre in Scotland.

The attraction will include an indoor surf pool

The new attraction will be built to the west of Edinburgh in a disused quarry.

In addition to the surfing centre, there will be a zip-line, water tubing, a bmx track and a ski-jump.

Planning permission for the project was originally granted in 2018 and the location is expected to open in the summer of 2024.

Tartan Leisure founder Andy Hadden told New Civil Engineer that the new attraction will be a dynamic new location and that 45 shareholders have come together to create a landmark destination.
