Mount Barker District Council has announced an official expression of interest in collaborating with developers and operators on a "landmark" AU$150m leisure resort for the city of Adelaide.

To be located in the Adelaide Hills area, the precinct is intended to combine hospitality, recreational and accommodation elements.
A broad range of facilities and activities are planned for the development, including accommodation and conference venues, indoor recreation, mini-golf, a trampoline park, aerial ropes course and F&B amenities.
An initial phase of the precinct has already begun, with its under-construction Regional Aquatic and Leisure Centre and upcoming planned adventure playground forming the Summit Precinct. Near to this is an 18-hole golf course and 30ha wetland area.
The council has also extended a 40km cycle path and pedestrian trail through this precinct as well as having "structurally restored and stabilised three heritage listed barns for adaptive re-use."
Mayor of the council, David Leach, said: “The Summit Precinct stands as the potential jewel in the crown of Australia’s leisure, sport, and entertainment offerings." He added that the project is a "significant stride in the council's proactive strategy to stimulate economic growth and attract private sector investment."
Jamie Guerra of Leedwell Property and Ben Koop of Alinea Group have been tasked to engage with "qualified parties and consortia" during the EOI process.
Expressions of Interest are to be lodged by 5pm ACDT, July 20 of this year.
