Following a string of recent refurbishments, go-karting company TeamSport has unveiled a state-of-the-art karting experience for its Newcastle location.

Newcastle

Combat Karts is a new interactive karting experience, making use of tech-infused cards to "bring racing video games" to life, according to the Northern Echo.

The augmented karting game is said to be the first of its kind for the UK, where gamifying features such as speed boosts and (game-based) opponent sabotage are made possible, as in a racing video game.

Dom Gaynor, CEO of Team Sport, said: “We are delighted to have launched our first Combat Karts at our newly refurbished Newcastle track. It has always been our mission to provide safe, unique, and exciting experiences and Combat Karts fulfils all those aspirations.

“The ability to introduce a product to the UK that combines all the best parts of video racing games and pairs it with real-life go karting has been incredibly exciting for us.

“It is our hope that bringing the interactive gaming element to the experience will appeal to a variety of people, looking for something new, fun, and different to do with friends, family, and colleagues.”

Other additions in the refurbishment include a redesigned track and new e-karts.
