The humble kiddie ride isn’t at the cutting edge of tech and design, is it? Think again…

KIDDIE rides as we know them have been around since 1930, when James Otto Hahs of Missouri, US, built a mechanical horse as a Christmas present for his children. When he realised the potential of what he had in front of him, he commercialised it and so was born what is still today a lucrative business, despite the competition that 2018 throws at it.
The market has narrowed somewhat since then, arguably, with older children perhaps looking toward more contemporary outlets for their entertainment. But for the younger, a horse and carriage, fire engine, helicopter or mini-Ferris wheel will always be like honey to a bee.
