US slot manufacturer Video Game Technology is ramping up production with the creation of its first game studio in Nevada.

Leading the company’s game development efforts will be vice president of game studios Ryan Cuddy, who previously held a similar role at IGT. Cuddy will oversee the process at both the new Nevada studio and VGT’s existing facility in Virginia.

"VGT has a history of delivering new and innovative products," said vice president of product management, Scott Winzeler. "I wanted to build on that past success with a more formalised process and additional resources.

"Obviously there’s a wealth of talent and experience in Nevada and I think we’ve got the best people available to head up the studio."

As part of a wider investment in the company’s infrastructure, VGT has approved the formation of an advanced R&D lab under the direction of Mike Oberberger, who has over 20 years of gaming development experience.
