The Colombian gambling regulator is doubling down on its partnership with operator Corredor Empresarial to improve the contributions of the company’s Super Astro game to the country’s health system.

The regulator, Coljuegos, hopes that sales of the lottery-style game Super Astro can grow to COP4.1bn (£745,309) over the next five years.

In turn, Coljuegos is eyeing tax contributions of COP781bn (£141.9m) from the game over the same period.

The regulator said it has therefore been working on marketing strategies for Super Astro alongside Corredor Empresarial as it looks to drive player acquisition and engagement.

Coljuegos has also hired an advisory firm to keep tabs on the game’s technical, financial and legal aspects, ensuring compliance across the country.

“This joint effort between regulator, operator and oversight body seeks to significantly contribute to funding the healthcare system in Colombia,” said Coljuegos president Marco Emilio Hincapié.

Super Astro sees players aim to match a number of no more than four digits and one of the 12 zodiac signs in an independent draw.

The game has two draws – Super Astro Sol at 2.30pm every day between Monday and Saturday, and Super Astro Luna in the evening throughout the week.

Corredor Empresarial also operates the online BetPlay gambling brand in Colombia.
