Charles Counsell OBE has been appointed by the Secretary of State as the interim chair UK’s Gambling Commission with a nine-month term.
Counsell, who has been the Senior Independent Director at the Gambling Commission since April 2024, will take up the role on February 1, 2025.
He was CEO of The Pensions Regulator from April 2019 to March 2023. Prior to this he was CEO of the Money Advice Service, and executive director of automatic enrolment at The Pensions Regulator.
