The UK gambling industry is being warned that it will be forced to pay a statutory levy to fund the Responsibility in Gambling Trust if it does not establish a voluntary system before the middle of next month.

Government Ministers say that they will begin drafting legislation to fund the problem gambling scheme in mid-November if the industry fails to meet its requirements. The industry has been told that it must pay US$32.6m over the next three years to RIGT.
