The owner of the Trump Taj Mahal has postponed the closure of the casino by eight days.

The casino is now set to close on December 20 and will become the fifth of Atlantic City’s 12 to shut down this year. The move was made while attempts to save the casino and its 3,000 jobs continue.
Due to progress it's making with state officials on financial assistance, the closing date can potentially be pushed back even further.
According to Associated Press, Trump Entertainment has engaged in a “last-ditch attempt” to keep the Trump Taj Mahal open. It has met with state officials to request relief for itself and a package of tax assistance for all eight of Atlantic City's casinos was introduced in the state legislature.
Trump Entertainment and investor Carl Icahn are currently negotiating with the city's main casino union and state officials on ways to keep the casino open.
