Philippine-based Megaworld and Travellers International, the joint venture between Genting and Alliance Global, plans to invest US$1.4bn in non-gaming amenties in Manila’s Entertainment City.

The area, to be called Westside City, will surround Travellers’ Resorts World casino that is due to open in the fourth quarter of 2020. It will include upscale residential condominiums, a luxury mall, restaurants and several international luxury hotel brands.

Part of the plan is to make Westside what Megaworld and Travellers are calling the Broadway of Asia, highlighting facilities for performing arts including the Philippines’ first Grand Opera House that will seat 3,000.
