Following a successful trial, The Star casino in Sydney, Australia, has ordered Mercury 360 Aurora roulette wheels and Billboard displays from Cammegh of the UK.

Cammegh has supplied its products, including Mercury wheels and Billboard display systems, to The Star for several years. Having rebranded and with a new refurbishment nearing completion, the casino has chosen the new Aurora wheels and displays to complement its redesign.

“We trialed the Aurora wheel and we loved it,” said Ainslie Stevens, gaming performance and development manager at The Star. “The change of colour at ‘no more bets’ helps surveillance, while the illumination is eye-catching and totally different.”

The Aurora roulette wheel has a Mercury 360 engine and is able to generate up to six additional numbers with the GLI-approved Bonus Numbers feature. The bonus numbers randomly determine a colour, illuminating the centre of the wheel to create side bet and mystery prize opportunities.

“The Aurora wheel is unique,” continued Stevens. “The side bet and mystery prize potential is something we are really looking forward to offering our customers, while also topping up value. Roulette is a primary offer in our live gaming mix and to add Aurora roulette to our gaming floor is something we are all excited about.”

Andrew Cammegh said the company was pleased that The Star recognised the potential the Aurora wheel offers and the added value that Bonus Numbers can bring.

“Players have always bet on numbers as well as ‘red or black,’ now they can bet on a variety of colours while simultaneously buying into a chance of winning a mystery prize. It’s given the traditional roulette wheel a bit of a makeover.”
