As InterGame reports that the Dutch arcades and pubs market is set to take a battering following the introduction of the smoking ban at midnight last night, we have also learned that the new law is expected to have a detrimental effect on the country's casino industry.

The government-owned Holland Casino will now have to impose the smoking ban on all of its locations - 12 in all - which enjoy a monopoly on casino gaming in the country.

The organisation is expecting a sharp initial impact from the smoking ban which, if the pattern in other countries is followed, may take a couple of years to return to present levels.
