For the first time there will be a Show Daily newspaper at the ICE Totally Gaming show at Earls Court, London, January 25-27.

Eight thousand copies of the Show Daily - produced by InterGame Ltd - will be printed overnight and sent by courier to Earls Court in time for the show opening each day. InterGame has been given permission by the show organisers, Clarion Events, to distribute the Daily at the entrance through clearly-identified news vendors and publishing bins dotted around the exhibition hall.

The Daily will contain news and pictures of the show, the people, latest products and company announcements, submitted as late as the previous afternoon. It will be tabloid format. A team of InterGame journalists will compile the editorial from all sections of the show, using specialists who write for InterGame, InterGaming and iNTERGAMINGi.

Companies exhibiting at the exhibition will be able to take up a limited number of advertising positions within the series of dailies and should contact the InterGame/InterGaming/iNTERGAMINGi sales staff to arrange this. An overall sponsorship of the Show Daily was quickly taken up by the Isle of Man-based Continent 8 Technologies, the online gaming hosting company.

InterGame’s David Snook said: "This has been a long time in preparation and we are grateful to Clarion Events for their assistance in setting up this very complex venture. It means that the long gap between the closing of the editorial pages of our monthly magazines and the opening of the show, during which there are only online opportunities to get news and press releases out, can be bridged. Everyone has last-minute changes to their displays, equipment coming that they previously thought would not make it in time, or events planned for their booths which need publicising.  Now they can do it - right up to the afternoon prior to the show opening and each day that ICE runs.

"Everyone uses the word ‘exciting’ when talking about something new at the show. It is a heavily abused adjective! But on this occasion, it is appropriate."
