A column in Rio de Janerio’s O Dia suggests Las Vegas Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson has his sights set on two casinos in Brazil.

The first would be in Rio with the other in Brazil’s financial centre of São Paulo, which has a population over 12 million.

Rio Mayor Marcelo Crivella said he spoke with Adelson last year about plans to build a $10bn casino which Adelson reportedly said would "double tourism." Crivella wants Brazil to allow three or four casinos throughout the country.
