Following a huge success at the Australasian Gaming Expo in Sydney two weeks ago, the industry in that region has been surprised to hear that Ross Ferrar, who was very much the architect of the show’s rise in the global gaming business, has retired.

Ferrar, CEO of the Gaming Technologies Association, which represents the suppliers to the industry, gave a formal announcement this week that he had "retired from business for personal reasons."

Ferrar over many years had been instrumental in building up the association as a united front for an industry often under media attack in Australia and had gained considerable respect for both the organisation and for himself in the process. He also took the fledgling AGE trade show from a small event and helped to build it into one of the world’s principal gaming expos.
