After only two years on the Romanian market, newcomer Ritzio has already risen to become the second largest gaming operator in the country.

Ritzio Romania, part of the Ritzio Entertainment Group (REG), entered the Romanian market in 2005 and now boasts 22 gaming clubs in nine cities, all under the Million brand.

"A good start and sensible business results after two years have given a boost to our energy and sparked new, interesting ideas for next year, which we are confident we can realize," said Vitaly Veselko (pictured), REG CEO.

After first breaking ground in Romania some 12 years ago, Ritzio rival Astra is the country’s largest operator in terms of the number of gaming clubs.

In a mere two years, however, Ritzio Romania has opened clubs in Bucuresti, Pitesti, Brasov, Ploiesti, Ramnicu Vilcea, Galati, Vaslui, Bistrita and Cluj, with a total of 643 gaming machines and 20 electronic roulette tables.

As well as developing existing Million clubs, the company plans to launch 11 new clubs in nine cities this year.
