Relief for Macau’s casinos comes as the 14-day quarantine period for all visitors from the territory entering adjoining Guangdong province is removed from tomorrow.

Last night the authorities on both sides of the border simultaneously announced that raising of the restriction and with it a boost for operators who had been suffering little or no business since Macau went into lockdown late in March.

Now visitors will no longer be forced to submit to two weeks of isolation as they leave Macau and re-enter Guangdong. However, they must have successfully taken a check for the Covid-19 virus within seven days of their leaving Macau.
