Italy’s four casinos had a positive August, reports Gioco News. Its analysis of the locations’ income shows revenue up - except Venice, which has bucked the upward trend even though it enjoyed increased footfall.

Saint Vincent in the Valle d’Aosta had revenue of €5.4m, up 10.36 per cent on the same period of 2016, mostly based upon traditional games such as punto banco and roulette. Slots showed a tiny decrease but still turned over €3.2m. For the eight months of 2017 the location’s revenues are up to €38.4m.
San Remo’s casino grew its revenues by 7.34 per cent at €5.6m, noting that slots revenues had grown to €4.1m, up 2.45 per cent. The location has noted that roulette collected €162,000, up no less than 296.2 per cent. For the first eight months, San Remo’s revenues stand at €31m, up 0.58 per cent.
Casino Campione d’Italia, on Lake Lugano, is back in the black, ending August with revenue of €7m, up 4.87 per cent driven largely by slots with revenue of €5.2m. French roulette was down 39 per cent but American roulette up 63.2 per cent. Punto banco also showed good figures. The year to August shows revenues of €60.3m, down 1.4 per cent.
The only negative impact is from Casino di Venezia, which was strike-hit this year and had to suspend some promotions in August. Total revenue was €6.9m, down 15.2 per cent, while footfall was up 5.3 per cent. Slots turned over €4.9m, up 17.9 per cent. There were negative trends in other games, notably the absence this year of chemin de fer which last year collected €381,000. For the eight months so far, Venezia collected €59.1m,down 6.35 per cent on the same period of last year.
