Las Vegas-based Bally Technologies has received approval to roll out a Pong-style slot machine that would for the first time allow hand-eye co-ordination to affect payout.

According to reports, Nevada gambling regulators have approved Bally Pong, which is a throwback to the groundbreaking arcade game released by Atari in 1972.

The Nevada Gaming Commission approved the game on the condition that the bonus round offers a payout regardless of one’s Pong ability.

"No matter how badly you do, you’re always going to get a minimum award," Bally vice president Mark Lerner told the Associated Press.
