New figures released by the Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation in Australia show losses on poker machines increased by A$55m in the last financial year in Victoria to A$2.65bn.
More than A$25bn has now been lost on poker machines in Victoria in the past decade. Epping Plaza Hotel recorded Victoria’s highest player losses for a venue - A$21m for the year. The Woolworths/Bruce Mathieson joint venture Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group operates five of the top six poker machine venues in Victoria for player losses with combined losses at these venues in the last financial year of A$97m.
