Plans for the £14m Sawclose regeneration in Bath, UK, including the city’s first casino, have been unveiled to the public.

The proposals for the development by Deeley Freed include a casino, two restaurants and a hotel. The casino is to be operated by French company Groupe Partouche in partnership with Global Gaming Ventures, which already has a provisional licence from the local council, the Bath Chronicle reports.

The company’s planning consultant, Chris Hays of WYG, said: “The project is still very much in a pre-planning stage and we hope to put in a bid from planning permission at the end of September.

“Our client has been working on these ambitious and exciting plans for Saw Close for the past eight years and has already successfully delivered the first phase of the redevelopment with the restoration and re-occupation of Bluecoat House, completed earlier this year,” he said.

If approved the work would start in 2014, with the building being handed over for fitting out in 2015.
