Universal Entertainment chief Kazuo Okada said last week that his company is looking to hire about 20,000 Filipinos in the next two years for the US$2.4bn integrated resort and casino in Entertainment City.

Okada Manila is expected to create an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 jobs in the first phase of development, which opened for preview last week. The Japanese tycoon told ANC that he plans to bid for a Philippine airport, on top of resort developments in Palawan and Boracay.

Okada said he also plans to list his casino business at the Philippine Stock Exchange in a year.
