NMi and GDS Laboratories put the finishing touches to their new agreement to establish NMi UK at Earls Court, London.

Representatives from the two companies signed a share purchase agreement to create NMi’s new UK subsidiary. Pieter van Breugel, director of NMi, said the move would offer significant benefits to both the two companies and manufacturers in the UK.

"NMi tests for 20 sectors in Europe already but we want to do that locally," he told InterGaming. "Now, a UK customer can test in the UK for these 20 countries, providing access to the rest of Europe.

"GDS has special knowledge of certain new technologies that are allowed in the UK but not everywhere else in Europe. This is the future and one day we must also be able to test for these when they are implemented. We will already have the necessary experience through adding GDS to the group."

Rich Edwards, managing director of NMi UK, added: "The most important thing is that NMi allows us to test for multiple jurisdictions and enables us to offer additional services to our UK customers. We enjoyed our earlier interaction with NMI and knew we could work with them. It’s a good strategic alliance."
