Having recently settled its legal dispute with Century Properties in the Philippines, speculation is growing that Kazuo Okada’s gaming group has found a local partner for its $2bn casino resort project in Manila Bay, reports The Philippine Star.

Officials of Tiger Resorts Leisure and Entertainment, an affiliate of Japan’s Universal Entertainment Corp, said it would announce its local partner “in the very near future.”
“Given that we have submitted a request for extension of our provisional licence for the first quarter for 2017, we are actively targeting to open the property by 2016,” Tiger Resorts officials told The Star.
Tiger Resorts is one of four licensees to operate in Entertainment City but under the country’s foreign ownership rule is prohibited from starting commercial operations without a local partner.
