Phil Urban has been appointed managing director of the Rank Group's UK casino business, Grosvenor Casinos, succeeding Peter McCann, who leaves after 28 years with the group.
Urban’s previous roles include MD at both Whitbread’s pub restaurants division and Scottish and Newcastle’s restaurants and accommodation division. Rank CEO Ian Burke said: "I am delighted that Phil has chosen to join us at this time of change and opportunity in the gaming industry.
"Our ambition is to create a truly modern gaming-based leisure business and Phil’s breadth of experience in leisure, harnessed to Rank’s deep knowledge of the British casino market will help us to achieve this ambition."
