Governor Maura Healey has appointed Jordan Maynard, a commissioner at the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, as the regulator’s new interim chair.
The move follows the retirement of Cathy Judd-Stein.
“I am honoured that Governor Healey and Lieutenant Governor Driscoll have entrusted me with this responsibility and thank my fellow commissioners, who are essential to the continued success of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, for their partnership and support,” Maynard said.
Maynard was appointed as a commissioner to the MGC in July 2022 and began his five-year term in August 2022.
He was previously Governor Baker’s chief secretary and director of boards and commissions for the Office of the Governor from February 2019 until July 2022.
Gov. Healey said: “Since joining the Commission, Jordan Maynard has proven to be a leader in this space. He has worked with people across the gaming industry and has helped oversee Massachusetts gaming regulations.
“We are grateful for his service as he takes over as Interim Chair and look forward to working with him more closely.”
Gov. Healey added that the search for a permanent chair is ongoing.
The MGC announced earlier this week that Caitlin Monahan is to take up the role of director of Investigations and Enforcement Bureau, while Dean Serpa will be the new executive director.
