The US state of New Hampshire is becoming increasingly serious about legalising casinos.
The question now seems to be not whether to allow casinos, but how many to allow and where they should be. In what will undoubtedly be one of numerous proposals, there are plans to introduce legislation permitting two casinos near the Massachusetts state line.
That is one more than is being proposed by new Governor Maggie Hasson. She supports a single destination, resort-quality property near the state line.
Other proposals are likely to be for multiple casinos, casinos at existing resorts throughout the state and at racetracks, as the state decides how to permit them and compete with others coming to Massachusetts.
