Mathias Dahms has been named as the new managing director at Merkur Sports and Gaming.
Dahms, who was previously the COO of the sports betting company Xtip in Germany, takes on the role within the Gauselmann Group company as of today.
Dahms will focus on positioning the Gauselmann Group for a future market for licensed sports betting in Germany, in a market due to be regulated from 2020.
Dahms has also been president of the German Sports Betting Association (DSWV) since its inception in 2014, a post he will hold for another five years.
